The mostly-abandoned Trepca Mine in Zvecan, Kosovo. The mine was responsible for a large portion of Yugoslavia's natural resources and employed up to 20,000 people. Now the numbers are in the hundreds, and many on both sides of Mitrovica wish for it to be restarted to bolster the local economy and provide jobs.
